The Concept of Personal Export

"Rid yourself of your unwanted self." Russell Brunson.

"You don't understand me. You don't live inside me. You just do this for the money."

Well, partly true. Medicine is a profession. The training is a life investment. Yes we get paid. No we "almost all" don't do it for the money and riches. Yes, I really get your pain. I can't see, touch, feel, or measure. But I can understand it. We can diagnose and treat it. Pain is a description, not an entity- Rule One.

Believe me, if I wanted to get rich, I would be doing something else. When I was a paramedic, a hospital we went to had an early Mac. It fascinated me, and I was hooked.

Microsoft had MS-DOS, which at the time was a tool, but Apple had intuition. MS-Dos was a mess. Apple had style, the early PC's "read IBM" were business blah, because that was the IBM culture. No soul, best zero cool. I saw it, got it, and in 1980 could have stepped into this world. Early adopter, stock options, early retirement. These boxes were future. Scant software options existed, and there was no internet. Coding was in its infancy. Why I saw this is because in my days at the university, I saw the ridiculous, and used it. For physics solutions we punched cards, put them in a reader, and watched the daisy wheel printer "no monitor" painfully print our result. These cost 10 cents a second in 1970s dollars. If we aired "always" it was a complete re-do. These little boxes were game changers. Opportunity. I see this. And ... I choose medicine.

Fulfillment versus Finality

To best understand a trajectory, the direction an object goes, you must understand Newton. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, so says Newton. It's not the physical world, it's your world. For every decision, activity, action, thought, there is an action. For every action there is a reaction. Society often decides if it's good or bad, despite your opinion. That is the basis of "fairness" a ridiculous concept that preoccupies most humans. And fairness changes with time. Today you are unfortunate to get a speeding ticket when the car next to you didn't. You didn't get the raise. That statement about you is wrong on the internet. I work so hard and failed and that idiot got it all. That fool cost us the 'fill in the blank'. You will be misrepresented, disparaged, lied to, cheated, and taken advantage of. You will also be loved, adored, respected and admired. So which is it? I'm a victim? That's not right!

Or are you the reciprocal disruptive. The contrarian. Yep that wasn't fair. I return, as an equal/and opposite, just that an opposite of ill will. Most regrets we have is not from lost opportunity, but from our behavioral missteps. You will have them, get over it. That self is unwanted and unnecessary to be your desired ideal. Successful people, read happy people, know their avatar. They know the entity they are, and have created it despite adversity. There was no hand book or self help guide. No coaching hack. This person just became their personal expert. I don't see or feel your pain as an experience. But, I know your reaction. My equal and opposite reaction is by way of my personal choice to be a physician. I will not always give you what you want, but if I do my job right, I'll give you what you need. My purpose is to help your head, because a cure may not be possible. In many ways, or treatment of pain, addiction and depression has not advanced since 1850 and we are certainly more constrained by time, administrative pressures, and regulatory bs. But we do it. Incredibly, we see results. I call it positivism. My best day is when I transfer pessimism to positivism and show a frustrated pained "from anything" person they are their own personal expert, equal and opposite momentum. Goodbye unwanted self. And that's WATME.
